Trying to get a TT up and running for a friend

Apoplectic

Well-Known Member
I've got a friend who's dad just died and left her his record collection. She tried playing them on her dads old TT. Unfortunately there are two problems, one is she is missing the stylus on the cartridge, the other according to her is there's something wrong with the platter, the records won't lie flat on it :stupid:.

Problem is I have no idea what cart this is on the tt. I've also never seen a cart like this. Its got a single screw on top and thats it.

Its a Panasonic Model 30. Not exactly hi-fi, but she wants to listen to her dads records on her dads machine.

Pics below.

It's a nice littme machine that breaths the spirit of an era. It might sound better than you think, and will look charming when back in playing order.
For the records not flat: there can only be a few causes: the platter warped, rubber deformed or the spindle bent.
