Trying to Identify these speakers

I have a pair of speakers but the tag on the back is gone, No brands names on them. They have a AD 0163 T8 phillips tweeter and woofers that have SP7, 1056 and 7742 stamped on it. Can anyone tell me about these speakers??
They are very heavy and about 24" tall.

1056 is the EIA code for Gefco. They made drivers for many companies.

This is a total guess, but something about that combo, as described, says Acoustiphase to me.

Regards,
Gordon.

The bevel on the back panel has a Boston Acoustics look to it, but I don't think they are BA's. You can see the 4 staples that held the "tag" on the back.

Is that what it was reminding me of? As soon as I saw that bevel, I was like, "Man, that looks so familiar." I was thinking Sterling, or one of the mid-level regional audio offerings that I've seen in thrifts before... maybe even BIC, but I couldn't put my finger on it. But, man, that bevel on the back is something I've definitely seen before.

this mystery is driving me nuts. the cut out for the terminals looks like avid but that's the limit, the front looks nothing like any 102' or 103'

They look just like Grafyx speakers, I think they were made in the midwest. My dad had a pair, mom still has 'em, they actually sound pretty nice. I think the model is sp-10, or something like that. I know they used a Philips tweeter.

Just a guess though...

If interested I found out they are GRAFYX sp8

Glad you got it figured out,I had an idea what they were by post #3,as soon as it was mentioned that the drivers were Phillips tweeters and Gefco woofers I was thinking Grafyx for sure, and post #6 nailed it 100%.

I got my own schooling on these when I scored some Grafyx Model 4's and I had to figure out just what I had.
Decent amount of info out there on the SP series of Grafyx speakers,,,absolutely nothing out there on the Model 4's...

Oh well.

Gonna document those Model 4's further when I get around to pulling them apart to refoam the woofers & mids,at least then anyone that finds another pair may come across the info here and have some idea what they have.

Have a thread started here on those Model 4's already.

Still it would've been nice to at least have the factory specs for those Model 4's (wpc rating/sensitivity/frequency/etc.).

But I digress...
