TT and dust

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if dust can get into impossible-to-reach areas (like crevices and switches) on my Technics 1200 and cause any harm in the future. For now I'm just giving the table a general dusting. The dust cover doesn't go directly flush on the table so a little dust does get near the platter, which I wipe away. I use a soft dry cloth---sometimes dampened with a little Windex---and it seems to do the trick.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Theoretically yes, but If you use the dustcover no harm will be done. The SL's in a nightclub I worked in 'drank' some cola and beer for 18 years and kept on working with a service every 2 years, that's also the cleaning frequency I'm afraid.

^ Agree the SL 'Tank' 1200 can have beer and keep going.

Comp. air in a can will work nice to blow dust out of tight spots...
