TT3055 (TO-3) transistor replacement

Hi everyone,

I'm restoring a vintage Stereo Masters By Classic amplifier (made in Australia). The amplifier is built in early 60s and found one of it's TT3055 power transistors is failed. (These are in TO-3 package and mounted on chassis)

I spend a lot of time to find the data sheet of above transistor, but ended up with no luck.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me to find the data sheet or any substitute. I belive this transistor should be a germanium.

Many thanks,
Sud

could it be a regular 3055 and TT was the maker ?
2n3055 .
check voltage drops on a good one . you will soon see if its silicon or not

If it is, here is everything you might want to know about a 2N3055 transistor.

As petehall347 mentioned, measure a good one to determine if it is germanium or silcon and whether it is a PNP or NPN transistor.

I did a search at the above site, but no luck.
