My issue here is with the implementation of my switchbox.
It's a passive Switchcraft 640.
Some times - not always - I'd like to be able to have both the tube and ss amps running and A/B to the speakers.
Doing so would leave the tube amp without a load when it's not in play.
There's a sticker on the switch that advised the use of a "phantom" load - see instruction manual - which , of course, I don't have.
I've been advised that adding an 8 ohm resistor to the speaker line and then connecting to the 16 ohm tap would take care of this. I presume that resistor would be placed across the output as if it were another speaker.
What I don't know is if doing this would impair or diminish performance.
