I found an old transformer only marking is 26R90
two groupings of leads
first set:
2 black and 3 green and one short white and blue

other grouping is hard to discern the colors:
2 yellow
2 yellow
1 brown
1 yellow and brown
1 dirty yellow or tan

all cloth insulated.
Copper band exposed on both ends of the plates.
Where can I find out what it is?
I'd like to do a tube amp, I'm a solid state by background, My dad was a tube guru but he died while I was too young to learn anything from him. I've done several bipolar amps including reserecting a dynaco 400..
If I can't locate any info I can ohm it out to common windings and be brave and apply power to the black set, I assume it would be the input set..
Please advise....

That looks like a Thordarson part number. I don't have an old catalog so can't help you directly. Well maybe Halldorson; I found this reference on Google:

"Halldorson 26R90 power transformer. NOS in box. Laydown with copper band. Primary of 117V and secondaries at 280-0-280 @ 260mA"

Yes the black wires connect the primary winding. Yellow is usually 5V for rectifier, green 6.3V for the other tubes. High voltage is generally red, with red/yellow center tap.
