Dynaco SCA 35, WE CardMatic Tube Tester with man and calibration cell and cards, also but not shown Zenith Leather TO with the 1L6, hope its good. All but the WE tube tester have various issues but have notes with each what the problems are.

Nice score. The SCA-35 is definitely worth restoring. I built the ST-35 that is the power amp version. It's one of my favorites. The output transformers are pretty nice in these. Most everything you may need is available, including a new power transformer if needed from places like Dynakit.

is it just me, or do the boards on that SCA35 look a bit toasty ?

They do look like that amplifier has seen a lot of use. New better made boards are available though.

Boards look good but it may get new boards anyway not sure yet. Unit has been sitting in one spot since 2019, some caked on dirt on top of boards.

It looks like a nice example, if the chassis was corroded, I would've made a ST35 from it, but it looks too good for that

Yesterday I got back to this gear and decided to mess with SCA-35. There is a back story with this gear. My friend all this came from has gone blind and no longer can drive and even worst for him cannot see his collections hardly at all. I powered the amp up with a variac, but before I took cage off found note inside dated 7-21-19, I was working on amp 7-21-21 see pictures. after I cleaned 7199 tubes unit plays perfect for now, more work to follow later.

I love my SCA-35, I totally rebuilt it using Dave's boards which took it to a far better, more powerful level of performance. It was a fun kit to build, and the sound is stellar!

Back on the SCA-35, powered it up and after 5 mins. noise started in left channel, so powered off and cleaned that channel only. Next day ran tubes thru pin str. powered up, less noise but still there, only in left channel. Pulled 7199 replaced with other 7199 out of my collection, this was a used tested good black plate. Noise gone, bad 7199!!. Later I will clean right channel and phono stage tubes, have to connect turntable yet will do that later

Today I rolled my rack of gear from Analog room #2 which is not setup at this time so I could use turntable. Phono stage works, it had mismatched 12AX7 installed, one GE one TungSol I placed matched pair of GE. Unit has more hum then I like but I will clean sockets and test again later

Back to this, cleaned all the sockets, line stage plays with no hum. Decided to go back to a turntable project my Technics SL-1300MK2 with Shure Cart, one channel was in and out, today I figured out that the cueing control was causing this, now fixed. Still there is a hum in phono, all grounds are correct, so I pulled my MM phono stage that I have only tested to see if it works. It is a Made in China Aiyima Tube unit with 6A2 tubes installed, connected it all to the Spare input and turntable plays NO hum even at full volume. Now just for fun I pulled the 6A2s and installed WW-2 surplus TungSol 6AK5 tubes I did not test these so very unlikely these were a matched pair, unit still played fine, my guess this unit is a hybrid.
