Tube rolling ideas for Cayin integrated

Several months ago I came into possession of a Cayin A-50T tube integrated. http://www.stereophile.com/integratedamps/308cay

This was supposedly designed to sound much like a Marantz 8B and allows for switching between ultralinear and triode

I've been using it with Triangle Celius 202 speakers, which are pretty sensitive speakers that have tremendous midrange, image extremely well and are very quick. The pairing is excellent and I am very pleased.

Naturally, I am interested in trying to squeeze even more sonic delight out of this combination & am looking at rolling in some tubes. I contacted the U.S. distributor for Cayin and they informed me that of the 12AU7 and 12AX7 tubes in the preamp section, the 12AX7 tubes will have a greater impact on tone.

My first inclination is to try some Telefunkens there. Any other suggestions? Also, I wonder if anyone has had Cayin gear and classic Marantz tube gear so as to verify the similarity between these modern Cayin amps and classic Marantz designs. Lastly, if any Marantz 8B users want to chime in about 12AX7 tubes in their Marantz, that would be great.
