Tube Testing and Alignment around Seattle?

Hi Everyone,

I know its been awhile, but we finally installed the majority of our EBay/Fisher Doctor Kit and fired up Dad’s old delightful 500C and it worked!

Since then we gently as possible pulled and cleaned the tubes with Q-tips and water then wearing Darth Vader masks gloves and disposable lab coats (I’m a safety nut) cleaned the non-rusted cad plated surfaces and transformers with diluted ammonia and paper towels.

My daughter and I are novices and I wanted to keep everything organized so I made us a cardboard cubby to keep the tubes organized. Next we’ll probably hit that heavy rust with a few applications of naval jelly followed by some rust inhibitor and stick it back in its walnut case which we’ll refinish.

My Question today for you all is, does anyone know of a shop or person in the Seattle area that would be able to test our tubes and help us align the unit when it’s ready?

I gotta say I’m a quiet one but I have been reading many of your posts and I have been really learning from you all and really enjoy what you have to say.

Best Regards,

Eric

I would start here, maybe reach out to them via messaging and see if they can point you in the right direction.

While the Fisher forum is one of my faves, it does not see as much traffic as say the Tube or General Audio Discussion forum so you might be better served with regards to more replies by having your thread moved to one of them.

Just hit the "Report" button (lower left hand corner) of your original post and ask a Moderator to move it for you.

There are a lot of folks from Seattle and that general region who I'm sure will be able to help you out.

Congrats on getting your dad's 500C up and running!!!
