I don't know squat about Quantum mechanics, but I know occams razor.
Occams razor states that the simplest solution or explanation is the best.
Do you want to build amplifiers or waste all day, and a box of pencils designing things on paper, that can't play records?
The vast majority of the things which directly benefit you, personally are probably achieved using basic high school mathematics. Quantum mechanics are in my opinion simply a way for academic types, (most of whom couldn't build a tuna sandwich) to show off for one another with regards to who is smarter. Not that useful in the real world.
Basic food, water, electricity, motive transport and mechininized agriculture, none of this stuff requires anything beyond high school math to do, and do well...
We just seem to have an addiction to technological advancement or the perception thereof, so we gravitate to the overcomplicated. Look how smart we are!
