Tulsa CL: Infinity, RtR

I've been checking CL every day for a cool piece at a good price. I haven't scored yet, and these speakers are too big for me - but they sure look nice.

Somebody needs to get those speakers ... they are a little rough, but at least they are all there.

Even if both Walsh's are working the price is still high although just the Walsh drivers in good working order have been going for $100+ each lately at auction. The woofers are not original so without the Walsh's the speakers aren't worth the trouble.

If all the drivers are working, that's a very nice sounding vintage Infinty.
Those go deep and present a balanced airy sound. Go for it if all the drivers work.....woofers seem original to me.

Original Woofers

I could be wrong and I do admit that the woofer in the brochure photo is certainly similar to the one's in the listing, but every pair of Monitor's I've ever seen or owned including two pair of Monitor IIa's I currently own as well as my original Monitors which are long gone, a pair of Monitor Jr's I still have and a pair of 2000II's from the same era that I am currently restoring, all have the original 12" black doped paper coned woofer as those in the attached photo which I just refoamed for my 2000II's. They are heavily doped nearer the dust caps (which are also coated) with a lighter coating the rest of the way out. I understand that Infinity did this to increase the mass of the cones, something they also did to the 8" paper coned woofers in the WTLC's of the same vintage.

Anyhow, that is why I suggested that the woofers in the listed pair of Monitors were not original.
