Tuner locking off frequency - Technics ST-X302L

Hi all, recently got myself a full Technics stack from the early 90's, and all is great with it apart from some annoying quirks with the tuner. I've got it connected to a good aerial in my attic, but it's getting quite weak reception on stations that it should be receiving well. I can make them sound okay by putting it to mono, but stereo can be hit and miss for breaking up and general static sounds.

It's also locking slightly off the frequency of a broadcast when I do automatic tuning.For example, my favourite station broadcasts on 100.30mHz, but the tuner is locking on 100.25mHz... small issue I know, but it's annoying!

If anyone has any idea what I can try to correct these I'd really appreciate it!

sounds like it needs an alignment honestly, but it may also have some failing parts. Unless you happen to have the gear to re-align a tuner my gut feeling is there is no simple way to fix this.
