"Turntable Basics"

Good morning to all, Has anyone done business with Turntable Basics? I placed an order on 1/3/08 for a cartridge alignment tool an stylus force gauge. My order was processed and they sent a confirming email, took my money, and I emailed them on the 12th asking for order status, and faxed them yesterday the 15th asking the same, and I have not received any response nor have I received my shipment. Am I being impatient here?

Thanks,
J.B.

I purchased the alignment tool from them back in December. It came within a week. I did however get an email from them last week saying my order was just processed so I am wondering if they are having problems with there order tracking system.

It took a little longer than normal to get my setup gauge, but I did get it. You will get yours I'm sure.

You are probably right. I just feel it is bad customer service when you don't know for sure there is a human on the other end when you don't get any response.

I didn't receive my order for two to three weeks. I emailed the guy several times with no response, even filed (and escalated!) a claim with paypal before my order arrived. A few days after i rec'd my stuff, i got an email apologizing for not replying to my emails. Apparently my TT belt was backordered (Whatever).

This website is basically a guy working out of his house (based on what i could find out when he wouldn't reply to me), and while i did receive what i ordered, he was not communicative at all.

I agree - I'm big on good customer service, and was not too thrilled that they/he couldn't just reply to my email. If I had any kind of status update along the way, I would have waited twice as long with no problem.

Last year I ordered a replacement belt and a replacement (non-VTA) headshell for my Dual CS-5000. The items came in so fast I couldn't believe it! I would definitely deal with them again.

I purchased from him and it also took several weeks. Obviously this is not an isolated incident. He appears to be reputable as far as eventually coming through with the order, but inconsistent on service and communication. I'd order from him again if there was no other source for the item and if I wasn't in a hurry.

I believe it's human as in a single person. I have ordered from them/him. It took a couple weeks. My guess it that there is a single shipping day.

I ORDERED AN ALIGNMENT PROTRACTOR AND A LEVEL, AND THEY ARRIVED WITHIN A FEW DAYS.

I recently ordered a bunch of poly-lined LP sleeves. After about 3 weeks I sent him an email looking for some kind of status. 3 days later, I received my order. It had been posted immediately after my status request email. Never did get a response to the email though (that is not good).

I have ordered from him before, and the response was quite good. I wonder if it is a health thing, or some other recent issue...

Enjoy,
Rich P

Thanks to all who replied. I got my goods today in the mail. It was my first time with him/them and as the consensus of everyone who dealt with them before was the service is there it's just the way that they operate. So all is well, thanks to a great group in this community. I love it.

adios,
J.B.

Two weeks for a cart align protractor from the US to Japan. That's average for orders with any online company in my experience.

I ordered a mirror alignment gauge from them around Christmas time and it took about a week and half for it to arrive. I'll order from them again if the need arises. Hopefully yours will be here soon.
