Turntable cue not working on a Micro Seiki DD-20. I can pull it up but it just sinks down by itself. Need Fluid maybe? If so What kind and where do I put it?The cue lift has a small phillips screw but it doesn't seem to do anything. If I unscrew all the way, will it allow me to lift the cue arm off? Is this where I would put fluid? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. By the way this TT has 2 buttons for the cue, naturally one for up and the other down. Nothing happens when pressing either one.

The fluid is really sticky silicone. Call the shops in your area and ask if they have some.
 
Hi, I have one that does the same thing. I think the problem with mine is that there's something missing that goes from the cueing button to the raiser. You may want to take the bottom cover off to take a look at that. Dennis
 
In order to fix the damped cuing, you generally need to take the cuing mechanism apart. This is usually a dashpot, with cylinder and plunger and damping compound packed inside. A special silicone oil is used for the damping fluid.

What you do is remove the old fluid, what's left of it, using solvent and cotton swabs. The old fluid may be discolored due to chemical reaction with the cylinder metal. Then new fluid is packed inside and the mechanism reassembled. Don't be skimpy on the fluid.
