Should I But This Technics Sl-j33 Linear Tracking?

I've been looking for a vintage turntable. I almost bought a Hitachi yesterday but I felt it was over prices. I've considered Technics, Thorens, and Duals. Now I'm thinking of this Technics Direct Drive Linear Tracking SL-J33. any opinions about this please or suggestions? I have a Luxman system with Ohm speakers.

I'd buy a used Luxman turntable, something like the PD277, great looks and sound, direct drive. Why not match the rest of the system?
 
I'm not big on the 'close n play' Technics models. I have an SL-5 and it works well, but with it, you miss half the fun of turntabling -- the massive platter, the big shiny tonearm, etc.

I'd second a vote for a Luxman table, they made nice stuff. I don't know that I've ever personally seen one, but the pics I've seen are nice.

What model of Hitachi were you considering, and price?
