Turntable dust cover Rubbers

The ones I linked to above after maybe a 2 minute google search are approx 1/8 dia x 1/16 thick, that's pretty small and you might find exact size/color with a bit more effort. White is what Pioneer used on my pl-518.

I did what onanysunday considered. Only works on covers which had holes in the front corners, I suppose, but mine did. Left them as long as possible without bending under the weight before cutting them, to increase the isolation. They're virtually invisible and have lasted 4 years now. Also isolated the dustcover hinges, using rubber grommets; had to enlarge the original holes to get them in, but that's easy using a ream or electric drill with increasing bit sizes. Also filled the old screw-holes in the plinth and drilled new ones a few mm higher, so the plastic rim of the cover makes no contact at all with the plinth.

Isolation isn't perfect of course, but the dustcover is close to 'floating' over the TT; it doesn't transmit resonance to the plinth, thence to the platter, to the stylus, and on to the speakers
 
You can also find them on FleaBay, even the clear silicone variant. They are packaged with more than you will ever need.
 
Rubbers, and butt plugs, and slide in holes... all in a single original post?

I remember looking into this once and read that you could buy Dermatology disposable skin punches for biopsy. They come in a variety of very small sizes in the mm ranges. Once you have the punches you can make the plugs out of whatever material you want.

Haven't tried it yet myself.

Back from the dead... did you ever find anything that looked like the original bumpers? thanks!
 
The clear, self-adhesive, buttons that I wrote about in post 2 to this thread are still doing the job after more than a year. As a bonus, they look like the originals (on my Kenwood/Trio KD500) and give a similar cushioning as the lid is closed.
 
I ended up purchasing some small rubber grommets from the hardware store and shaving off one the mushroom ends of one side allowing it to be pushed into the recess (hole) in the acrylic dust cover.
 
I got a sheet of the small, round, clear self-adhesive silicone ones from home dumpster a year or two ago. Maybe 50 on there?
 
Some where they are made for turntable covers. Hopefully someone will find the source and we will be able to get them. Another turntable part hard to find is the rubber gasket on the collar of a head shell. I have never found a supplier for these either.
