Retired from AK. No longer posting.
I've finally finished updating my turntable gallery and I'll be uploading it all over the next couple of days (I'm on a 56k line and there's an awful lot of pictures). You're all welcome to drop by and take a looksee at all the pretty pics :D

the updated site seems much easier to navigate. BTW, in the pic below of the Nottingham table, the very upper part of the platter is the Spacedeck heavy kit??? (i.e. 7/8 inch of carbon fiber that Nott retails for $1000). I've tried finding info on the aslgroup site, but their information is minimal.
 
I've never heard of the 'heavy kit' - seems like an odd use for relatively light carbon fibre but it looks very cool. I wonder if they produce it themselves or get Cetec to do it? I lived in Nottingham for 10 years and Notts Analogue aren't far from Cetec - in fact Art and Scorpion carbon fibre exhausts are also made a short distance away. I used to knock up carbon number plates for M/C's in my shop and get materials from Art, and Cetec's name came up often. They used to sell a carbon tonearm (just the arm part) for around £100 UKP for DIY use and claimed to be able to produce bespoke parts for audio at quite reasonable prices, though I don't know whether they still bother? I'm sure NA must use Cetec but I may be wrong - information on NA decks in the UK is scarce, no advertising and rarely even a review - they must think we're all Linnies!

I've realized my question wasn't as clear as it shouldn't have been. Actually, I've received an e-mail from aslgroup which distributes Nott' in the US:
"The Spacedeck Heavy Kit is an upgrade to the 7/8" thick graphite record mat used in the top Nottingham models. It replaces the foam mat included with
the Spacedeck."
I'm guessing it's the top part of a Hyperspace platter that can be retrofitted (i.e. plopped on) a Spacedeck. The price of $1000 surprises me. Actually, I'm considering the Definitive Audio "Mystic Mat" which is also carbon fiber but at a more realistic price of 85 GBP.

And my reply was a bit rambling - actually as you probably realise now I don't know if the pic is of the upgrade - sorry. The Definitive Audio "Mystic Mat" is interesting though, do you have a link to any info on this? I'm not sure of the reasoning behind using this material for a mat, other than cool looks and possibly light weight - though in my experience this is only gained if the item is very thin as most of the weight is in the resin if it is a resin/carbon matting produced product? Now if its a real carbon fibre mat thats another thing, though I'm not sure what.
 
I'm pretty sure that's an upgraded platter--I HAVE the stock Spacedeck and it's about 7/8 " shorter than the particular Space on your site.

As to the "Mystic Mat," it's from the the Definitive Audio store in Nottingham. They have a website, but it's only contact information.

Someone with a Nott' Mentor table recommended the mat to me. E-mail from Definitive is as follows--

"We have now recieved a new batch of carbon fibre Mat - revised. It looks better, sounds
better and is able to be used with most record players. They are £85, and I would imagine
including carriage this would cost you around £100.

Please let me know which record player it is for."

That's the extent of my limited information. May go ahead and get the mystic mat just out of curiosity, but it's not quite what one would call an informed decision.

Hi Buddah boy,
As far as I know there where only 2 versions of the PT2 (or PT Too) - one with an outboard power supply and the other called the Export with inbuilt supply. The one pictured with the Kuzma arm has the Anniversary power supply, so I presume has the DC motor fitted? Maybe someone else knows more about PT turntables and the differences between models?
