Turntable Speed

Hey guys,

Slight problem. My Pioneer PL-55DX, the speed seems to drift sligtly. Its not terrible, but bothers me. After each LP played I find myslelf re-adjusting the speed. Is there an adjustment I am missing. I have a SL-1900 that does not do this. But I preferr the sound of the PL-55DX.

Hit the pot with some DeOXit. See if that corrects the problem.

Also, the following applies to many, many turntables:

As the motor [even some electronic units], warms up, speed may increase slightly.

There are adjustments for the motor speeds on that table.

I hit the pots once a while ago. But will try it again. I will also have to see if the speed corrects after the warmup.

NoT I think you are on to something. If I let it warm up for a few minutes before I adust seems to hold better.
