TV-7 Data

View attachment 2265336 Does anyone have TV-7 tube tester settings for a Chinese 6Z4 or a Russian 6C4P, which is very similar?
TIA.
Walt

I think I answered my own question. The 6z4 and 6c4p are supposed to be electronically equivalent to the 6X4 rectifier except they have a different pin out for the 2 plates and the cathode. I looked at the 6X4 settings for the TV-7 and, based on the TV-7 operator’s manual, I modified the switch settings keeping things the same except the switch settings for the plates and cathode. This is shown in the attached picture. I have some very inexpensive 6c4p tubes coming from Ukraine, I’ll try testing them when I get them in a few days.

Even if you do not intend to buy anything (or have already bought, as in your case), eBay can be an excellent research tool.

I found several eBay vendors selling Russian 6c4p tubes, and at least one had pin (base) diagram and specs.

1 and 7 are anodes
5 is cathode
3 and 4 is (separate) heater
So apparently 2 and 6 are no connection.

It also says:
"Identical to: 6Z4_China"

Here is a really bad cut-and paste:

voltage of filament

V

6.3

voltage of anode of each diode

V

<=50

at anode current 150 mA

current of filament

mA

450 +/-45

rectified current

mA

>=75

transformer secondary AC voltage (r.m.s.)

V

2 x 350

load resistance

kOhm

5.2

filter capacitance

uF

8

retainment of rectifier strength at rectifier current

mA

68

at least, after 5000 operating hours

I received two NOS Chinese 6Z4 tubes in the mail today and tested them with the TV-7 using the above settings. Both tested at a meter reading of 54 on both sides of the rectifier. The minimum acceptable reading is assumed to be 40, the same as a 6X4. Again the TV-7 settings for the 6Z4 and/or 6C4P are:

Plate 1: 6.3 ET0-7050 Bias=0 Shunt=30 Range=A Press 7 Minimum=40
Plate 2: 6.3 ET0-1050 Bias=0 Shunt=30 Range=A Press 7 Minimum=40
