TV Stinks so Back to Radio

How about something in the middle? A "tv-radio" station? I went to a barber shop not too long ago and the gent had on an old tv/play broadcast on the radio. It was VERY cool listening to the actors & actresses voices with the occasional sound effects of doors opening, cars starting etc. Must of been an old 50's play. It created a 3D image of the play in your head that passed the time wonderfully.

You mean a radio drama?

Still very popular here in the UK, mainly on BBC Radio 4. One of them, The Archers, has been running continuously since 1950 and has over 5 million over-the-air listeners and 1 million Internet listeners.

Yes! I really like those and it leaves room for the imagination. Also helps bring the blood pressure down relaxing to a radio play while tinkering around the garage.

I agree. Between new shows and great old shows, I have too much to watch. Sure, there seems to be a lot more crap these days, but sift through it a bit and there are still plenty of great shows being made.

Hulu is a classic television lover's dream! There's also a variety of stuff on YouTube. I'll give a plug for my channel, ronreagan12, if you like old stuff. I've uploaded a lot of unedited Beverly Hillbillies episodes to my channel, which are really hard to come by.

I bought an HD antenna about two or three years ago when I cancelled cable. I get a lot of stations, but we dont watch much, especially during the summer. The subchannels have way too many commercials. And horrible commercials at that! My wife has Netflix so I got a Chromecast and we watch netflix on the TV.

Rarely fire up the TV - but the roof-top TV antenna <begin disclaimer>that covers the FM band and has no FM traps</end disclaimer> pulls in at least 5 low-powered college radio stations. Whenever I do watch TV I have this sinking feeling that life is being drained out of me.

sooo, on to the antenna. go buy a cheap FM ANTENNA. i got one at radio shack for $20 in the mid 80s, so maybe $30 now? believe me, the improvement will be WORTH it.
