Twinkies !!

Oh, thank goodness. :thmbsp: I've been eating an awful lot of apple turnovers, & it's just not the same. ;) I'd like to see those Mexican Submarino dealios around here, those sound pretty good too. :scratch2:

It's a good thing I didn't invest in them like so many were doing on eBay. What was it that P. T. Barnum once said?:scratch2:

Yankee Doodles!!!!!!!

Since McKee will likely produce most of the Drake’s products at its plant in Virginia. I'm hoping for better distribution in the Va area. They were very hard to come by down here. I used to buy 10 to 20 boxes of Doodles and Yodels to take home with me when visiting family back home. Sure miss them.

We never lost Twinkies in Canada. All you have to do is jump the border to get your fix (just no killing please).

Wonder what all the idi...special people...who spend hundreds on twinkies in the last few months are thinking now.

I knew they wouldn't be gone for long and anyone who thought they would be is just plain silly. They went bankrupt and were going to be sold. of course products would come back out eventually.

I was talking to a Frito-Lay vendor, and he had said [Frito-Lay] had been trying for the longest (years) time to buy out Hostess/Dolly, but it never happened.

That's too bad. Besides Frito/Dorito chips, they also put out Grandma's Cookies. Hostess puts out apple/cherry/lemon pies. I was hoping Frito would buy out Hostess so we could get some of your "Grandma's hot cherry pie"!....MMmmmm mmmmmm....

But there are 330 former Hostess employees here in Maine looking for work due to the Biddeford plant closure.

Don't care about Twinkies, but the fruit pies, I want those back. Went out the day after the company went belly up, not a fruit pie on the shelf anywhere in town!

Don't know what was worse ... this or the big Banana Flip scare of '05 ...

Scary times, man!

Scary times, man!

Whoah!!! Is that real? :D ;) I haven't seen those since I was a kid. And I don't remember seeing anything made by Nickles' bakery in a long time either. But that's probably just a regional thing. A lot of folks around the country, have no idea what they're missing out on, just because the big outfits don't advertise right. :scratch2:

Yup ... that there's the REAL DEAL!

They've pulled back to distribution only in the Great Lakes states. They even disappeared off Michigan shelves a few years back, but showed up again in local stores a couple years ago ... they say you remember great moments in history ... that was one of them for many of us flip addicts. Store's probably still mopping up tears of joy in the snack aisle.

Did some research, and apparently Aunt Millie Foods has taken over distribution here and recently added Illinois and Minnesota - I think the Tri-Cities had a parade and everthang when they showed up there. So hang in there folks! Good, tasty treats DO come to those who wait ...
