Two and a Half Men

thisOne

Listen...
OK, so I watched four out of the five episodes this season and I have to say that the show ain't the same without Charlie.

I'm not sure where they're going with this show, but each episode is just less funny and the dialogue is just dumber and flat. There seems to be very little chemistry between the characters.

I'm not sure that there is much future left in this show.

That sounds like a continuation of the previous seasons efforts.

I used to kind of like it, but after seeing every episode about twice (parents love it), it quickly looses charm. Charlie Sheen was pretty much the source of charisma in the show (elsewise it could be called "the jon cryer abuse hour"), and i'm not too keen on Ashton in any sense.

Pure **** from the start and I could imagine only shittier since the Sheen left the building- if that's possible.

Tin cans to gold...

I feel it's too early to tell, but that is not good for the returning viewers. On the other hand they may attract a new audience that favors the new mix. Alcoholics don't sit well with a lot of viewers, so the counter balance (all but abused) that Cryer's character brought, and of course the mindless dweeb of a son, kept things moving.

Both versions, "Two and a half men" and "Two and a half men" regurgitated, hit home with their characters. If you've had to truly live with or put up with people like the ones portrayed in these two flavors, it isn't hard to be totally amused. This of course depends on how you dealt with idiots like this in real life.

Some of the things that are done and said on both shows are things I've seen and I seem to recall experienced in real life. There are people dumbfounded because they can't believe that this kind of stuff really happens. Problem is life is worse.

If I had a choice between watching this and watching a debate on the floor of the House of Representatives I'd pick the prior. Paying for stupidity that comes from the latter is not my idea of amusing.

Changes like this often kill a show. The days are likely numbered.

Don't care for the new version myself, dumb billionaire that acts like a toddler, stupid imo

I've watched parts of 2 or 3 shows. The funeral was funny because it was about Charlie.

Ashton's character is just the same character from That 70's Show. It worked there because there was some smart characters to work as antidotes to the dufus role.

That's what's missing.

Charlie provided a confident smartass counterpoint to the psychotic loser brother. Something the whole show revolved around. He was the womanizing live-life-on-the-edge-my-way point of the show. A Peter Pan who knew he was a Peter Pan.

Now we have a loser brother being the responsible one trying to help a loser billionaire. A Peter Pan who longs for getting back with his wife. What self-respecting male audience is going to buy that? :D The role reversal making what's-his-name the responsible one doesn't work.

The dynamic of the show is completely changed. No reason for Rose who was hilarious and sexy in her Stalker/Wiley Coyote/Road Runner relationship with Charlie. Certainly no reason really for the housekeeper either who just crushes on Ashton's character.

Yep, going downhill from the season premiere on out. If the show makes it to another season, I'd be damned surprised.
