Two AT P-Mount Carts

Hey Akers,

Hope this finds you all well. My father just gave me two p-mount carts that he had:

AT Series V
AT T4P SN-P313

Couldn't find too much information on these carts and I'm sure they're nothing special. Could you guys fill in the blanks for me? Is one better than the other? The T4P doesn't have a cantilever. Looks like it snapped off a long time ago.

All help is truly appreciated! :thmbsp:

Thanks seminole54!

Any comments on styli? I see the Series V has an HE and Shibata option. Is it worth the price? Is the cart that musical? How would it compare to my Shure?

Thanks again!

Depends on which Shure you have. Don't know that I would put that kind of money in those two cartridges, but I do have a current 92-E and it sounds quite good for the money. I am sure the AT experts will jump in at some point. Both of these carts can be bought new for less than $25 which may be less than the stylus alone

I think they're essentially identical. The motors definitely are and I think they both originally came with the same .3 x .7 mil bonded elliptical (which in turn makes them both basically the same as the AT92E). The "funny" number on the SN-P313 is because it was an OEM version for Sansui.

My thought too. I was thinking about keeping the Series V cart and maybe getting a replacement stylus for it one of these days. However, will have to check to see that it works before investing the money into it.

Thanks for the opinions/comments!
