I have a fondness for the sound of loudspeakers with simple slopes on their crossovers . Especially those whose drivers are all wired in positive phase at the x-over . Pushing and pulling in unison at the same time to the input signals . Nothing wired out of phase at the x-over . Every speaker I presently own are wired this way from the factory , Dynaco a-25 , EPI-100 and sound very coherent ! Well I've taken a fancy to the Pioneer HPM-100 speakers and was saving my change to purchase a pair . I read that their are two version of the HPM-100's . I'm only interested in the one uses the 6db slopes on the crossover and all drivers wired in positive phase . ?? Which version should I be looking at ? Comments appreciated .

Eventually you'll outgrow all that, but enjoy it while you're young!

I guess you won't like this version HPM-100 as it employs drivers wired out of phase.

once you add a coil and a capacitor the phase changes 180 degrees so that is why the tweeters on some speakers are wired positive to negative.

So, you have a tweeter with a capacitor but a woofer wired direct. not in phase
as the frequency changes on a driver so does the phase.

point is phase doesn't really matter.

I was hoping someone would chime in on this aspect. Look how many JBL's are wired out of phase, or many other brands. Not an uncommon implementation, and if it wasn't for the better they wouldn't employ it.

It's the 100 watt version , swn-117 x-over . Thanks !
Here ya go. No apparent difference other than reversing polarity on tweeter and super tweeter.
