Typewriters anyone?

I wouldn't call myself a collector but I have a few. Most have been acquired for less than $20.00, way less. They all work just fine. Like an old turntable, a little cleaning and lubricating is all they need. Most are fairly utilitarian but I do have an Olympic SM 5 cursive font that's pretty cool. I may try to build a display for them someday.

I had a blue Olympia. Mom got it with Blue Chip stamps right before I went to college. Long gone.

Have a few old (fully mechanical) Royal, a couple of IBM "Selectrics", and both mechnical and electric variants of pre-Soviet and Soviet-era typewrites w/ Cyrillic keys.

I don't collect Typewriters, but I do have an image of two German Shepherds operating one in a 1970 demonstration road show. One would type while the other would slide the cartridge after every "ding"

Pretty sure anyone that owns more than one typewriter (of any variety) these days can be accurately called a collector... just my $0.02!

My OS (Ubuntu 20.04) prevents me from posting my own photos, but my typewriter collection runs from an Oliver, over 100 years old, to a modern word-processing unit with a CRT.

Oliver visibles are fun, very Jules Verne/ H. G. Wells. No pix of invisible typewriters for obvious reasons.
I have one old Corona folding portable minus the case.
