"u-turn audio" Orbit TT

[steph_gaynor]

Hi, I ran across this in the paper and thought folks would be interested to know about this new company that is attempting to produce an inexpensive high quality turntable. I wonder how their efforts will measure up against the Rega P1 and other entry level turntables out on the market.

I do appreciate that folks want to be able to buy a new turntable that is of higher quality than the Ion USB type tt you see at Best Buy, Radio Shack etc. The globe article has some interesting stats on lp sales.

I wish them the best of luck.

I wonder if they will ship to our area ? :scratch2:

It looks like it may come with an Ortofon Omega, not a bad choice for entry-level and upgrade-able with the OM stylii.

Interesting that they're going with a uni-pivot arm. Maybe those are renderings, but I don't see a cue lever?

That looks awesome! Thanks for sharing, will be keeping an eye on this.

Here was the reply to my email.

Thank you for your interest and well wishes. The Orbit turntable is going to be introduced at the end of this month through a campaign on kickstarter.com.

Best,

There's a whole other thread specifically on the U-turn Audio turntable.
