Hmm ... I concur w/ several -- even when he was "more thin" Leslie was no looker -- but I don't think I'd vote Gary as most ugly rhythm guitar (also he's much more a lead player anyway). Ron "Pig" McKernan was sure no looker ... not much of a keyboordist! Spot on re Ginger @ drums. I don't recall Goddard's looks @ the moment.

So, I'll cast a vote for most ugly rhythm geetarist : Noddy Holder (Slade)

PS: Honorable mention most ugly lead = Dave Hill (Slade), but I don't think he had(s) the chops to be in a All Star Band. He was sure as hell not anything close to the talent of Leslie West, who was, um, only awesome!

Adrian Belew
Bob Fripp

King Crimson, in general, had a history of ugliness in its membership. Great players, yes.

On the other hand, bassist John Wetton was one of (especially Prog) Rock's most handsome gents.

For some reason the content in your post above -- "YO" -- isn't showing up in my reply to you, but, oh my, this Goddard guy is Jabba The Hut ugly. Yeah, I think he's the one for bassist @ your All Star Ugly Band.
 
Yes

According to Rick Wakeman, Wondrous Stories was rocketing up the UK charts, until the band appeared on Top Of The Pops. Once the public could see the band, sales immediately ceased.
 
Let us not forget "Alice Cooper" (Nightmare Alice) who went out of his way to be facially...unique. Even without make-up! :biggrin:

Some might consider him to being "ugly", but his continenance was readily recogoized, and his striking appearance, made him a lot of money.


And he is a great golf player. Some thought he could have made it in the Pro Leagues wherein good looks have no place.
