How many UK AK'ers are there out there?

It would be interesting to note where you are in the UK and what gear you have in your collection. I'm presuming that the UK market in years gone by would have yeilded some different item to those in the US market.

Anyway, here's my details.

I'm Hull in East Yorkshire.

Current Vintage collection comprises (mostly Pioneer):
Pioneer SA-508 Amplifier (UK variant of SA5800)
Pioneer PL-L1000 Turntable w/ AT110E MM Cart
Pioneer TX-9500 II Tuner
Pioneer CT-F900 Cassette (may have a second one in the bag yet :))
Pioneer CT-F800 Cassette
Pioneer SG-9800 Eq
Pioneer SR-303 Reverb
Pioneer DT-510 Timer

Wharfedale Denton 2XP Speakers
Wharfedale Dovedale II Speakers

Akai AM-U1 Amplifier
Akai AT-K1L Tuner
Akai HX-1 Cassette
Trio KT-5500 Tuner
Sansui T80 Tuner
Thorens TD150 Mk.II w/ Shure M55 MM Cart

So what are other UK users running?

RE: Uk

Hey Trawlerman
I see your useing an AT110E cartridge how do you like it. What do you track yours at?
I just picked up a new stylus for an AT 110E I got in a group of used cartridges.
I hear great things about it so I thought I'd pick up a new stylus and give it a try.
Sorry this is off the subject of what you were asking

" When the women of your dreams is in the arms of a man from Hull"

I think that's how it goes.

Let me know your opinion on the AT.

The AT110E is a really nice cartridge. I originally got it about 5 years back to use with a Thorens that I had at the time and was quite impressed with it especially as it was a budget cart.

It's got a nice and smooth sound that's pleasant to listen to but at the same time it's not too detailed that it becomes distracting.

IRC, I track at about 1.7g but would need to check to be absolutely sure.

Mine has hardly been used (20hours or so and only by myself) so it's practically new and is a good match for the Pioneer that it graces at the moment. I would definitely look at getting another if I pick up any more TT's.

Anyway, i'm still looking forward to hearing about other UK AK'ers
