Unamco T1 Hum and Buzz drives me crazy

Hello there fellow audiophiles.
I bought my Unamco T1 a couple of months ago. Since day one it hums and buzzes like crazy! I did the following in order to fix it with no luck at all:
- I changed the cartridge with a new-one.
- Got my hands on a lot of new old stock of parts for the turntable and i replaced
the circuit that the tonearm cables are solder on as well as the circuit for power.
Nothing changed neither for better or worse.
My next steps are changing the cables of the tonearm and the motor.
Its really frustrating because the noise is noticeable even at low volume and a shame because is a very quite TT other then the buzz and hum.
Does anybody else have experienced that persistent buzz and hum?

Not familiar with the Unamco (even though I am a Swede ). But generally speaking I think you are on the right track with your next step in changing tonearm cables.
When I have experienced hum problems it has always been caused by something wrong with the tonearm cableas and/or the grounding of the cartridge/tonearm/turntable to the amplifier.

Make sure the tonearm and subchassis are GND's properly. On an AR ,which is also a suspended design, the tonearm, sub chassis and top plate that hold the motor are all tied to the same GND as are the signal GND's . Might giver that a try.

Thats what i thought to! It buzzes more when i touch the tone arm, that was a sign that something is wrong there...
It seems that Unamco T1 is "one hit wonder", produced for couple of years in the seventies and then stoped!

Thanks for the info πατρίδα! Although i think that all is properly grounded. Ill open it again anyway and check.

It shows quite neatly how a turntable should be wired. Make sure your's is the same. The earth wire should connect to the tonearm metalwork and to the metalwork that forms the top-plate of the turntable. Don't just check it visually - check it with a meter.

Thanks for the help. I checked the earth wire with a multimeter, it is as is described at the diagram you shared. Buzz still there...
