Understanding push-pull amplifiers...

I am looking at an unknown power transistor in a earlier post, and have been researching push pull amplifiers for some clues.

Please correct me if I'm wrong... the NPN transistor is a 2n3055...the load line and specs would call for a complimentary transistor as the signal and load should be identical ..so the complimentary PNP transistor would be a reasonable guess for the unknown transistor..

Thoughts??

It is a Motorola with the numbers 4045 which is the part number, and below it is 7226. I could not find a match for it.

MJ2955 is the compliment of the 2N3055, still available from ON. 7226 is the date code, 26th week of 1972. Manufacturing processes have changed since 1972 so best to replace with current products if you're going to replace them, don't use an old one and a new one together in the same channel.
