I first head this song about 10 years ago, it's a spoken word stand up routine by Greg Giraldo (RIP), that was put behind a beat, and I liked it. I came across it tonight while looking for music I wanted to hear, and played it again, and thought maybe a few might like it. Agreeing or disagreeing with the lyrics is not the point, so please don't discuss that and get the thread locked, just take it for what it is.

Thank you for posting this link. I did not know of that song (much less the wonderful video). It is part of an important musical tradition -- and it reminds me of Gil Scott-Heron's earlier masterpiece (put your mind in the tail end of the 1960s and early 1970s or have a look at the cultural explanations at the Wikipedia page)
