Thought I'd follow up in case anyone else runs across these and wants to fool with them. As Westy56 said above the screw that holds the shroud on it is below the foil badge in the center of the back. I managed it remove the foil badge but not with out bending and distorting it a bit. I managed to work most of that out just by placing it on a flat surface and burnishing it with my thumb. The results were really pretty good. Below the shroud was a single 5uf paper cap which I replaced. I also pulled the lpad and shot it with Faderlube. The results were a significant improvement and really pretty short work once I dug in. Considerably less muffled and restored the mid and upper frequencies that were tamped down. I have enough speakers (and getting ready to build another pair) I'm probably going to let these go but it was fun playing with them and seeing them come alive. I've attached photos of the unit.
