University Audio Something?

I need help identifying these horns. My father and uncle built them into a homemade set of speakers in perhaps the late 50s. I can't find anything online outside of the fact the drivers looks like University Audio drivers. One horn is powder coated, one isn't for some reason. Anyone recognize these? Edit: I should add that the woofers in the set have a "made in England" stamp in the rim. That's about all I have for markings.

Those look like the center section of a university CH trumpet. They can be unbolted from the trumpet. This is the only pic I could find of the trumpet, but you can see the bolts around the driver.

Thanks for the inputs, I believe I'm finally on track to figure it out. These were mounted in the box as you see them by some audiophile that sold them to my dad, with some clever cut-outs to fit them in. Crazy well built stuff back then, these things are an eighth inch think aluminum.

I saved them from the landfill because they looked so unique I thought they might be worth something to someone, but perhaps not as much as it costs to store them. I'm an old school audio guy myself, but perhaps not this old.

The oldest I've seen these horns were in the late 60's. They were in a church belfry used for the electronic bells. When I saw the first set there they were at least from the 50's. The drivers attached were 140volt line.

So how did these drivers sound together?

Got any pics of the woofers? England manuf. will narrow it down quite a bit.

Those woofers are almost 100% wharfedale. What size are they?? Hard to tell scale from the photos :D

I got a Wharfedale vibe too, at least from the felt visible from behind, but I have very limited experience with Wharfies so I kept it to myself.

And to fill out what was in the box as there seems to be some folks out there familiar with this setup? The EV stuff seems to have some value for some, but hard to know about the others.

The whole system sounded great from what I remember. Bass and high ranges were covered well, but maybe the mid range was a bit empty for my taste. The back of these speakers had a potentiometer that probably acted like a gain adjustment. Those were shot.
