Aka Rotel RP-1000, aka Micro Seiki DD23. What are your thoughts on this turntable, would anyone recommend it? Direct drive, S-shaped arm & comes with AT91 cartridge.

I saw one on sale for around $30, and it seemed to be in perfect condition, but when I approached the seller for more information I was told that it doesn't auto-return at the end.

Googled it up & found this on one of the websites... At first glance, it seems to be hollow & cheap, but there's a lot more going inside than I initially thought.

Looks like a nice table for the $. Auto return doesn't look too complex.
Agreed, but what has me worried are those plastic parts. Either way, I asked the owner to test it out & see if it lifts (and returns) the arm upon pressing the "stop" button or not. This will hopefully give me clear indication to what exactly is causing the problem.

Nothing... Apparently the stop button doesn't do anything, or is entirely disconnected. And since the auto-return doesn't get triggered through the tonearm either, makes me wonder if the plastic pin was maybe removed or broken off.

Rotel sure throws that model # around a lot lol.

These are all listed as an RP1000, there could be more.

the bottom image seems to be the closest resemblance.

Right?! I've noticed the same thing while performing a Google search... Kept seeing all these other RP-1000 units which didn't seem anything in common with the one above. However, I find the Micro Seiki DD23 to be the closest (and most accurate) resemblance. Because Rotel (RP-1000) has a straight tonearm where the MS DD23 one has S-shaped arm with removable headshell.
