Looking at these for a friend, what am i looking at? emailed the seller about the model but no response yet.

They're competing against, though not necessarily excluding, a pair of design acoustics PS-10s for 48 bucks, a possible pair of cerwin vega L-7s (different from the last pair i posted about), and a variety of kenwood and pioneer rack systems that might be good enough for her tastes/as second speakers (i already found and refoamed for her a pair of cerwin vega D-5s which she loves).

Thoughts?

Based on the photos and dimensions, appears to be a TSW-410.

I have some TSW 610s that I like a lot. Nearly holographic imaging. The bass in the 410s would presumably not go as low. I would describe them as accurate and detailed but not exciting.

I consider some kinds of exciting to be a defect in speakers. Something that is interesting at first, but starts to be irritating over time. For the record, I listen mostly to classical and acoustically recorded music. Not much rock.

I think i know what you mean; i can never listen to the D-5s she has for too long without getting bored of the "exciting" aspects; then i go running back to my Optimus 5bs.

We sent the seller an email offering him 60. If she doesn't like them, I can probably take them off her hands, and if i don't like them i can flip them in RI. Thanks for the feedback.

When I worked in retail some years back, I sold many of these TSW-410s. Overall, a nicely balanced speaker - possibly more natural sounding mids (and maybe slightly more forward mids) than the other models in the TSW line up.

IMHO, superior to both the Design Acoustics and the Cerwin Vega.
