Unknown Polk Speakers! Help ID!

Received a pair of Polk Speakers today from a client I was working for. They have no model number or anything printed on them besides Polk Audio on the lower right corners. Plugged them in and the sound was not so great... Anyone know what the model is? And also, should they be sounding like crap? I know Polk made speakers that covered the whole spectrum sound wise, but my monitor 10's completely knock the socks off these puny suckers..

Check the terminal cup, sometimes the model number is cast into it.

Better pictures would help, maybe remove the grills and get a shot of the driver arrangement.

To add to the confusion, be aware that Polk Audio regularly recycles their model numbers.

Has the SL5000 dynamic balance tweeter, a 7" woofer and 7" passive radiator. Nice little speaker.

If they sound crap, check the tweeter. The magnets can become misaligned or can fall off. Search for a post by me in Dollars and Sense on S10s. I did a tweeter repair there.

i had a pair for the bedroom a few years ago. nice smooth sound, low coloration but no bass at all, really. dynamic balance and all that. probably were meant to be paired with a polk sub. not garbage though at all. check xover and drivers..
