unstable/wobbly Technics speed...

so i just got my old Technics back which have been in storage for 2 years, and all of a sudden, BOTH motors are unstable. they are quite old but were always fine before. even threw itself into reverse all of a sudden. records sound awful, unplayable.

any idea how to fix this?

i've searched around but haven't found anything super clear.

Pretty sure it’s a bad pitch/fader

Yeah, that looks like an mk2 with the center detent on the fader for quartz lock. These are known to get dirty or wear out from DJ use. Try some deoxit first and see where that gets you.
