Unusual Yamaha NS-9595 speakers from the 80s

I've got a pair of these lying around that I picked up a while back, but I can't seem to find any info on them or a previous sale to get an idea of their value.

Anyone have any idea about them? Dollar value in particular.

They sound great, wondering if they are of the same lineage as the famous 1000s

I'm sorry to break it to you, but your speakers couldn't be farther from the NS-1000 in character. The NS-1000's were meticulously engineered for a flat frequency response with little coloration to extract every nuance from a recording. The NS-9595 were designed to play loud, look eye catching, and sell at a low price point.

If you like the sound of your speakers, then enjoy them. However, I doubt the resale value is very high, so don't get your hopes up if you try to flip them.

Same dead end on the NS 8585, look identical but 4 way instead of those looking like 5 way?
Boxes are not very deep, but have wood veneer.
seem to have been available overseas, NZ and South America, but no reviews or manuals found.

The pair I saw we're in a family members warehouse "lost" since put in inventory, I assume in the 80's, so are brand new.
can they be that bad?
Yamaha did make 'em.................

i have a pair of 9191's mine look similar except mine has the power meters and circuit breakers and still work like champs..

I'd say they are most likely nice speakers for enjoying rock and roll, but they just don't have the telltale signs of being something truly amazing.
