I just acquired a pair of Focal Sopra 2's. Awesome speakers. I'm currently using a new Rotel 1590MKII preamp and an Anthem MCA power amp. I'm looking for advice on upgrading the amp. Since I just got the preamp, I really don't want to replace it.
I've been looking at the mac 312 and Parasound A21+, but I'm open to anything at this point, maybe including the Rotel Michi S5. My budget tops out at around 7k.
Would upgrading just the amp at that price point accomplish much compared to what I already have? I listen primarily to classical and jazz, mostly large ensembles, so that may factor into my decision.
My technical acumen is very limited, so act like I don't know anything. (which is pretty much true)
