Ur12 + Mda/mcd

does anyone know how to program the UR12 so that I can control the MDA/MCD remotely? We all know there is no power switch on the MDA remote control. I could simply use a CD2 button on the UR12 but I need a specific code for the MDA to switch input etc. Power on/off is no problem since I get the entire Mc chain on/off by my C45.

in fact, it's really getting exiting....:scratch2:

I've asked the same thing. It can't be done unless you have another device that can be remotely turned on and off in your system. In my case I wired the MCD to be the master, MDA slave, 501 slave 2 and another 501 slave 3. Pushing the standby button on the MCD puts the whole system to sleep and wakes the whole system up. 1 button is better than all 4.

Yes, thats the way it is and the manual states so.

MCD1000 - MDA1000 - MC501 - MVP841, thats how I set it up. Reason? Simply becuz I like to fill up the data points in the amps and left only the MVP with one outlet "unplugged". Better to have dust on the MVP than on the MC501's, even if its just a small hole. And yes, like Serge said, ONE button is all it takes to power up and power down. Its OK to walk a few steps, ... good exercise to bring down some inches off.:D

Mine's just a little different from Jerry Seh's. I power up the MC207 from the ACC port, daisy chain the MC501's off the power port and daisy chained the MCD to MDA to 861. The idea was that I didn't want the MCD/MDA on all the time but I can use the remote to turn on the 861 which powers up the MDA/MCD.

Wow, I made that sound MUCH more complicated than it really is...:boring:
