US Air Crash

Wow, our first responders are good! A plane gets taken out by a flock of geese, lands in the Hudson and our Port Authority, Firemen and Ferry Operators get there in seconds and get everyone, all 154, off the plane alive!

Give that pilot a raise and a medal!!! Tremendous work by the flight crew and all of the agencies involved in the recue of the passengers. Coast Guard, Harbor patrol NYFD, NYPD Ny Waterway Ferries, etc.. That no one died is truly miraculous.
The plane was towed down river and is now tied up at Rockefeller park along the promenade on the Hudson River. I live in Battery park City and got a look at the plane last night. They are going to attempt to raise the plane today. Thankful that everyone made it out alive, congratulations to everyone involved in the rescue and her brave and well trained crew.

Ahhh.. that media phrase I hate....

Listening to the news this morning, and their quote.. "This miracle landing turned ferrys into First Responders. I guess that renames fire departments as Second Responders? I really do hate that phrase... WAY over used.... If there are first responders who is the Second Responders anyway? The crime scene clean-up crews? The media?... errr.. sorry about my peeve rant..

And then, what happens next.. But of course.... The local news people standing at Reagan National saying how WE also have an airport surrounded by water... and WE have geese too... Anything to tie a local area to any tragedy out there...

Best case scenario/outcome thanks to:

- The pilot
- The crew
- The passengers
- NYFD fire boat crews
- NYPD patrol boat crews
- Coast Guard crews
- Ferry crews
- Crews from other boats responding
- Drills and emergency preparedness training

The convergence of all participants doing their part resulted in this outcome. :thmbsp:

Let's not talk about the geese.
