Using Deoxit?

Thanks, I will just blow some air in and deox it every day for a few days and hope something happens. Should it work the first time? I have tried cleaning it once and it didn't work, so I did it again and am waiting for it to dry.

You have to get the deoxit inside the controls. It can be hard to find an access point. If you are not getting it inside, the critical contact points won't get clean.

I had several of the extension spray tubes around, so I slightly heated the end of one into a "U" shape being careful not to collapse the tube. Once it cooled it was just as hard as before and then I just trimmed it to the size I needed to get underneath the controls. It took a couple of tries to get one shaped like I wanted it. This has worked great for me reaching tough mounted controls...

I have the unit taken apart, and from my knowlege of the switches, I assumed the bottom near the pcb would be mostly sealed and the contacts would be more exposed near the top, so i have been spraying around in there. Is that wrong, and the contact area is near the board? i have all sorts of access to it, because the small board the main switch is attached to came out with the few screws around the inputs.

You need to find a point that you can see inside the pot. What you are looking for is the wiper that moves when you turn the knob. In many cases there is an opening just above the point that connects to the PC board. Switches are another story. There are many different designs and some don't have obvious access points. Look at them closely while working the switch to find a likely spray point.
