Using Multiple TTs

Would a Sansui G-6000 be a good reccomendation?
I really like the looks of it,and it looks to have 2 phono inputs.

I use a phono pre for each table (two, but only have one hooked up at the moment) then run those into a mixer with a decent preamp in it...

OR, you could use the phono pre, then hook it into an AUX... so, you could have one table going into your phono input, and one going into a AUX, and another could even go into another AUX if you have one. You would have to buy two phono pre's though.

I just can't imagine haveing more than one table hooked up at a time though if you can't mix them. I guess if you are just wanting a different one for a different kind of music might me one reason, but clicking a switch to turn one off and one on just wouldn't be as cool as non stop sound with a mix..

You could look for a vintage HK integrated amp. I use a HK A 400 series (I think mine is A402) amp when I want to run two turntables (it has two phono inputs). Nice units. I got mine free from my father in law, but I think they can be had for cheap. Mine's 45 wpc.

I think the best approach here --although a bit (or even a lot) more expensive-- is to put a phono preamp (or at least a phono transformer, if you are using an MC cart) as close as possible to each TT itself. THEN you can run the (stronger) outputs through a high-quality selector box, or into the phono inputs of more than one pre-amp.

Personally, I love the flexibility of the phono inputs in the Marantz 3650 preamps. You can select the impedance and other characteristics to more closely match your cartridge, and run a couple of inputs into each preamp. Two 3650s can handle several turntables (of mixed types, MC or MM) easily without the need for any switching box.

If money is no object, then the BEST thing I know of for this, is the EMT JPA-66. It comes ready-made with four phono inputs (plus two aux inputs), each one continuously adjustable, giving more flexibility than any other phono pre that I've heard of, and it is ALL tube-based, including even the (separate) power supply. One incredible monster, but unfortunately it costs about US$30,000 the last time I asked. I'll buy one as soon as I win the lottery! :D More info here:
