Hi my project debut sits on a surface with a shelf overhead that does not allow full opening of the dust cover. I think the best solution is to unhinge the cover and just move it away completely when not in use.
I do a similar thing with my Thorens TD 166 but that turntable is modified and has an acrylic cover with rubber bumpons attached to the corner edges that touch the plinth, preventing the cover from slipping around and scratching the plinth. With the project the edges are too thin for that and the front corners already have hard plastic bumps. I was thinking is there a type of bumper or bumper tape that would wrap around the edge of the dust cover and serve a similar purpose? Or maybe some other solution?
Suggestions most appreciated!
