Utah MH12RC driver information?!

Hello everyone,
I have a 12 inch Utah brand paper coned speaker, model MH12RC number 328284 and I'm looking for any information I can get on this. I believe it is a ceramic magnet unit, and 4 ohms but I'm not certain of either of those specs.

I have not been able to find ANYTHING using search engines, very little about Utah at all and nothing on this model number. Any help you can give me, be it another place to look or the specs themselves for this model number would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Fender Quad silver-face amp from 1973. The amp has 4 Utah MH 12 RC number 328517. These speakers are 12 inch, 16 ohm that were run in parallel series down to 4 ohms. Thats about all I know. Hope it helped

But, there are now 2 recent posts, and i feel compelled to respond.

I have a Fender Quad silver-face amp from 1973. The amp has 4 Utah MH 12 RC number 328517. These speakers are 12 inch, 16 ohm that were run in parallel series down to 4 ohms.

But, your MH 12 RC's were likely custom made for Fender with 16 ohm coils. It appears the speaker in the OP @ 4ohms was also likely an OEM part for another manufacturer, or the OP measured the DCR and assumed the impedance to be 4 ohms, we may never know..

Standard off the shelf MH 12 RC is an 8 ohm speaker.

Given that a lot of Utah's output was for OEM manufacturers- I would guess there were lots of custom versions. That was sort of a "bread and butter" speaker line for them. Having 4, 8 and 16 ohm versions available was probably routine.

Just my two cents' worth on this resurrected thread — Utah speakers were not well-loved by most Fender amp enthusiasts. About the same reputation as Oxford speakers.

Most guys couldn't get them out of the amps fast enough. The good thing, there are a lot of low-mileage 40, 50 year-old Utahs floating around.
