Utility Program To Uninstall Anti-Virus Program?

Chip - HP

Super Member
The only other computer problem that I need to solve (at the moment) is the removal of a Computer Associates Anti-Virus Program (E-Trust EZ AntiVirus) that some how ended up on my computer ... it causes my computer to crash (according to Microsoft) on a too often basis ... there is no listing for it in my Programs File (and hence no Uninstall provision) ... CCleaner acknowledges its existence in Cleaner/Applications under Utility (interestingly it doesn't show Spyware Terminator which I also have installed).

Any suggestions?

First, go to program files and find the program and see if there is an uninstall shortcut in the program list. If there is not, go to your C:\ drive and find the program in the program files folder. Look in the program folder of the AV program, for an .exe file with uninstall in the name. If you find one, double click it and run the uninstall.

Generally, if neither of these options exist, you can usually delete the program folder. First go to their website and look for advise.

I found the location of the Computer Associates AntiVirius program on my HD ... it's buried in the AT&T Yahoo Online Protection program (even though an AT&T U-Verse telephone tech swore up-and-down that AT&T's antivirus wasn't Computer Associates) ... there is an Uninstall provision for the Online Protection program so I will get rid of it and replace it with something more reliable that won't crash my system.
