value needed on Technics SL-M1 turntable

Danger Boy

web troll :-)
I have a Technics SL-M1 turntable that I can't find the original MSRP on .. and also the value of it today. It's in great condition. it has the T4P straight arm on it.

I looked in my Orion BB from 2003, and it's not listed there. They have other models, such as the Technics SL-M2, SL-M3 and SL-MA1, but no SL-M1

any info would be much appreciated.

Today's value?............Whatever the market brings (Ebay,Craiglist, Kijigii, etc.).

I had one (from the dump, no less). Good looking, good sounding. If you want to use a T4P cartridge, its possibly as good as you can get. But I bet its not worth anywhere near what it ought to be -- the T4P mount limits your choice of cartridges, and people who want high end tables often want choice, and lots of it. There were a few high end cartridges made, including moving coils, but I don't think too many are still available.

The entire Grado prestige series is available in P-Mount, and KAB has some sort of thing with Ortofon where they put the OM carts into pMount bodies....

Hope that helps.
