Value of IMF TLS 80

Havnt seen these in person and would never pay $500....but Im sure they're is plenty of wiggle room here.....

1. will they really put a smile on your face?
2. IMF became TDL and the voice coils in my TDL Studio Monitor 3's blew up causing a very difficult repair. Dont wanna see that again......

Looking for people who know this speaker and value.....

I think they're well worth $500 if in good shape and all drivers working. Stands included which is a bonus.

To add more detail to my earlier post, I have two pairs of IMFs.

The TLS 50 II's, which are below a model below the one you're looking at. And the RSPM IV's, which are a model above the TLS 80's. So I haven't heard the 80's specifically, but I have no doubt they'd be very much like the speakers I have, which I love.

If you like effortless, deep bass, you'll the IMFs. The transmission line design gives you great bass. They aren't the most efficient speakers, so you don't want to run them with really low power, but your KA-9100 would be more than fine.

There's four drivers, so make sure they're all working.

Since the ad says OBO, you can offer less and see what happens. But if it's local to you, I'd at least give them a listen to see what you think. They don't come up that often.

If they're as nice as they look in the picture, are in working order and have the stands, $500 doesn't seem bad to me.

2 grand new and adjusted for inflation these are priceless in today's dollars which are worthless. So 5 seems like a decent price.
