Value of Marantz 2230?

An older neighbor is parting out his man-cave. Besides his Technics SL-1500, he's now offering me his Marantz 2230 which is in respectable shape. Has the original manual, but no box. Ebay prices are all over the map from what seems to be reasonable to questionably high. Any thoughts on its value?

All original - sans wooden case, about $250. If it has a Marantz case in nice shape add $100 maybe $150. Then should get rebuild.

WRONG....WC-22 worth 200+ on a bad day.. 350-500 w/o cabinet. 500-750.00 w/ case.

How much I would pay for it is what warren-Oates said. How much they go for with a global audience is what nolasally said. The “neighbor” price should be closer to the the first.

I guess whatever the market will pay. I have bought two 2230s (sans case) in the last year, about $330 each shipped to my door

@Warren-Oates @bobdrob1 Considering that shipping would be about 50.00 you got a helluva deal both times! if you bought them on ebay, poor seller.....after after fees and shipping they pocketed 235.00. They would have done better selling locally. I dont get the if local should be XXX lower than ebay, other that 15% discount for fees...Its actually a benefit for the buyer to buy locally vs ebay. You can lays hands on item and test out. Also cosmetics tend to be better and no issue with inept shippers to deal with....So on my low estimate offer 250-300 and it will likely go home with you.

I looked at the prices after I stumbled across a second one. I was thinking they were running about $400 without case in decent working order
