Value of Marantz 7 + 8b combo today?

Presuming a very-good condition working Marantz 7 and Marantz 8b , what's a good sale price today for the combo? Presume cash deal in the US midwest.

And, if they're sold as a pair, would you expect a premium or a discount versus the cost of buying separately?

Thanks!

I would sell separately with a discount to a buyer who wants both.
Depending on condition and pics, $3500 will be really popular. I would think twice that.

Asking price rarely is equal to sales price. $3500 cash deal for BOTH is a pretty good one for both parties. THe best deal is when both parties are equally unhappy with the transaction.

I would guess a 7 is generally more valuable than a 8b.

So $3500 for both means something like
Marantz 7: $2000
Marantz 8b: $1500

Can't wait to see that in Barter Town.

Cant say I have experience with the Midwest market, but I cant imagine their value is halved compared to my side of the US(west). You would have a line of flippers ready to pay $3500 for the pair here.
Assuming no cosmetic issues, they would sell 3-4k each, local sale.

The 7 is definitely the more valuable piece. You can frequently find 8b for under $3k. There's one locally that's been listed at $3200 for a long time and even on eBay there's a lot of completed sales in the $2500-3000 range. The 7 fairs a bit better, but even there prices are pretty spread out. There was a working one in a somewhat rough wooden case that sold for only $2200 last month (and that was an auction, not BIN). Cleaner examples from well known sellers seem to hit $4k pretty routinely.

That being said, those are eBay prices, local sales tend to be quite a bit lower. $7k for the pair might be achievable on eBay, but I think somewhere in the $5k range is more realistic locally.

I have sold 3 8bs and 1 7c in the past 3 years local cash sales through Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, NorCal area.
The 7c I sold 3 years ago, untested but very good cosmetically, sold for $4000. The first 2 8bs I sold 3 years ago, they were mint with cages but untested. Each sold for $3000 within 30 days. The the 3rd 8b I sold about 2 months ago, it was on the rougher side cosmetically, no cage, but worked beautifully. It sold quickly for $2800.
